It's like the first time I'm writing something down here.

I really do agree with the previous post anyway!

Don't hate me just because my school starts on April 19 and I'm doing camps like nobody's business while all of you are pretty much busy mugging for your college.

But, I just want to say is,

PLEASE.

Come for the campfire in march,

because I think it really means a lot to Zhuang Hua and the rest of us.

It's really priceless, I mean, the feeling you get when all of us come down as one.

And as the saying goes, unity is one.

Imagine this scenario:

All of us singing the NP cheers and catching up with one another,

hearing about rubini's latest scandals and gossips,

showing concern over what has happened in our hectic lives lately.

I think this campfire is really a good chance for all of us to bond closer together,

or perhaps, to relive those unforgotten memories of love, bond and comfort.

I really want to see all of you, believe it or not.

Cause it's really comforting to see a familiar face in your life, wherever you are.

HELLO EVERYONE~ I think people are still coming to this blog. I think.

So anw, we finally POP-ed, sat for the big Os, got the results, and made the choices we did and despite all these life-altering events happening in our lives, I just wanna say that,

I'M REALLY GLAD WE'VE NOT BROKEN UP!^^

okay I've just made us sound like some couple, but yknw what I mean right!

Honestly after POP, I've always thought that the chances of us keeping in contact, still getting together, was maybe close to none, and yknw, receiving smses to go for squad lunches, that was just gna be a distant memory of the past, but hey; it's not like that! :D

it isn't easy to keep this together, I bet, and I wna thank all the people who've made the effort to organise all these things too and those that kept on meeting up and stuff, sighs, I know it takes some effort, and I haven't been able to take part in any last december so yeah, I miss you guys!!
and I still think about our times together quite often; all the stuff we've been through together, I miss those times:)

but ANYWAY, the point of this post is that, no matter how difficult it gets, no matter how tiring, I hope we can keep this going on... and maybe it's only me, but I hope that being in our squad, isn't only a bond that exists when we're in NP, and it transcends to something more than that..

SO LET'S CONTINUE THIS ALRIGHT? for the next 1001 years to come...

until we're all old and wrinkly and have to meet up in wheelchairs and with cranes with half of our teeth all gone, and until dinosaurs appear again on the face of the earth.. anw you get the idea :P

when Jia Xuan comes down from MT intensive, she'll also brief us about the parade which i'm sure none of us is sure of what's happening. from 330 to 430, we'll be practicing for the POP and ROD stuff. there'll be people running off somewhere in the middle for phototaking so ya we'll just have to do with it.

after the parade, we'll be changing to unoffial squad tee with school shorts and shoes. NO SLIPPERS & FBTS ALLOWED TOMORROW. for ROD tomorrow night, i think liana and andrea are playing the guitar and we're singing some song? you can confirm with them what song exactly we're playing. but i think it's With You by Chris Brown.

OKAY UPDATE ON STC BADGE TEST!

It's on Thursday 02/04/09 during NP Session.

Things tested:

2. Knots
3. Lashings

I have taken photos of the notes from STC in case any of you have misplaced them!
(Okay obviously got at least a few who misplaced it, so yeah)

Managed to compress 20+MB to just 7MB now! :-D
Wow I could've just died brightening and sharpening and resizing the photos, but I didn't!!

We can't afford to keep repeating the same drills over and over for the sake of those who didn't come.
At least visualise it in your head, memorise the command, know how and when to use the command, you know, do all the systematic stuff you can do alone.
Then practising would be easier.

Got the new lashings/knots we learned right.
Hmm I think need to know like the uses and everything right?
It's part of survival right?

We have to come up with an article-slash-reflection.
We can choose any event we've done in NP this year.
For example, NPCC Service Day, hmm I can't think of anything else right now.
Learning Festival maybe?
What we did, what problems we faced, what we did to overcome it, what we learned from it, whether we achieved the purpose of the event, if yes, how, if no, why, etc etc.

Let it be a collective effort from everybody yeah?
Don't leave one person to do it all by herself.

And Sec 2 NCOs, please squeeze out an article/reflection from your squad.
Ask them to write about Traffic Duty or something (I don't know whay they've done).
As long as it's not the same event as the one we're writing can already.

Articles need to be completed ASAP.
Hopefully by the end of this week,
Because the newsletter is due in 2 weeks.

I'd suggest for next monday that we cancel out RT, cause captain ball every week is quite boring haha.

Maybe we could make PT slightly less tiring, then we do drills? Or campcraft (tent we use in ATC, knots and stuff like that)? Then while the cadets do campcraft, maybe the remaining sec threes can do other stuff, or help out? Then if we're doing drills, then all do tgt la.

well most of you skipped the course today about uniform stuff,
so i'm gonna share my knowledge with y'all.
firstly, your sleeves, they have to be ironed, and there has to be a prominent line.
you know the line right, where you paste the velcro thingy, yeah, that line has to be there,
and then, also, your rank has to be pushed downwards,
as in, you've got the button above the rank, and the rank must be pushed away from the button.
okay, i really get the feeling that none of you really get what i mean.
never mind, i'll tell you when school reopens. :D
so skipping that, victoria and i had a rather horrible but interesting MOI.
hmmm, so, things that you should look out for is..
1. take note of facial expressions.
well, let me elaborate on that.
for example if this cadet just doesn't execute the command the proper way after doing it for so many times,
don't lose your patience,
keep yourself cool, calm, composed and collected and carry on teaching her.
just don't let out any facial expression that gives away your feelings.
yeah moving on,
2. really really make use of your surroundings.
well, if let's say that there is a lot of distractions around,
move your cadets or whoever you're teaching to a quieter place where you can conduct your training better and more condusive for learning.
noise is unpleasant sound, remember? :D
alright, moving on,
3. have voice moderation
as in, don't speak monotone,
for example, when you're talking normally to them, use your normal pitch, whatever :D
but when maybe you're scolding them, maybe scold using a higher tone, a harsher pitch, perhaps, i don't know?
yeah, so they'd be like, 'oh shit, maam scolding already! ssshhhhh'
that kind of thing, yeah, like they know you're gonna start your lectures again.
just suit your voice to the scenarios accordingly.
and yeah, that's something to take note.
and BLEH, it feels damn weird to be typing away at 1.27am.

Whatever that is being written below, attendence is NOT compulsory.
on thursday(5th june), it'd be about misc. stuff.
FOR EXAMPLE,
how to
a) polish boots
b) season beret
c) pin badge properly
d) iron your uniform
e) know the parts of your uniform to take extra notice on
f) and some other things you want to ask regarding uniform or anything else.
this is thursday's schedule, so it starts at the usual time 1pm
yea, hope you guys can make it.
BUT.
remember, it's not compulsory, but it's all for your own good :D
now for tuesday's schedule (10th june)
it'll be around 1pm to 6pm, latest 6.30pm.
from 1 to 3.30pm, it'll be drills.
for footdrills, we'll be learning how to command properly, and afterwhich, we'll learn drills that we're unsure of.
we'll be doing advanced drills e.g. kekanan
and also, basic drills.
and also, rifle drills (!!!!) :D
so, after we learn, we can break up into groups and learn among ourselves.
hmm, then from 3.30pm to 6pm, we'll be doing campcraft.
we'll start with the 8 basic knots, and then revising the parts of a 5 men tent.
and maybe, maybe, we'll be pitching a tent and through this,
you guys can learn how to peg properly, tie properly, that kind of stuff. :D
so here's something to take note:
you guys can decide when to come.
for example, if you want to come for campcraft ONLY, then come for the campcraft session.
this goes the same for drills.
however, if some guai people want to come for BOTH,
then by all means! you're greatly welcome!
those who are unable to make it,it's okay, we'll teach you.
and i stress again, attendence is not compulsory :D

kay...i shall write only the impt points... :D

1. Each team shld have 4 to 5 members, however, shld the team have less than 4 members, they will not qualify for the next round. However, cadets can still participate in the shoot to qualify for the individual event.

2. only the overall scores of the BEST 4 SHOOTERS will determine the position of the team.

3. Composition of the team must remain unchanged throughout the competition

SCORING
Figure 2 target: 5 pts/shot within rectangle
3 pts/shot outside rectangle
maximum pts: 40

NRA Centre-fire target: According to points as printed on target (u know...like the bullseye board thing)
Maximum points: 160

In case of excess hits on target, only the best 8 hits will be counted.
No allowance will be given for jams or misfires.

we just got another challenge from the CIs :O

so basically this is what we see the CIs as
- a motivator
- a good role model
- having the ability to handle different situations and problems
- sacrificial
- having good character (both in and out of NP)
- knowledgeable, in terms of drills and campcraft
- proficiency

yeah, and the good role model thing is the most important one we have to fufill

I'd like to thank everyone who put in their effort for the competition.

Team 1: I'm really happy you guys got in, and I'll definitely go and support you this Saturday, do Crescent proud. :D :D

This is for my lovely Team 2, I'm here because I heard some of you all were still abit upset about the results.

It doesn't matter anymore, does it? Whether you bawl your eyes out, or whether you sit there and stay indifferent, it no longer matters. Results are out, and that's it. When I saw all of my teammates so dejected about the results, I was really glad to realise that, that means all of y'all put in all your effort for the team. I know I don't like to be labelled as the vice captain, but this time, as your vice captain, I'm really happy about how much effort you've put in to make things possible.

We spent alot of time tgt, didn't we? We got injured, tired, and disappointed with bad timings. Do you rmb our 40minutes timing, that we improved to 18min in one training? Can you rmb the satisfaction we had? I believe you can. Do you rmb Yongni ma'am going, "C'mon peg harder, you hate the peg", "C'mon tie faster, move your fingers faster!". And the likes. Or how we called Candy ma'am and Jiatru ma'am our parents, our weekly demands for ice kachang, can you rmb?

If you remember, it will suffice. Memories will last a lifetime, a lifetime. This would probably be the last time I would dedicate anth to you as a vice captain, and I would really like to thank the 9 of you cooperating with me and Kelly ma'am. No doubt we don't have one more week tgt, I rly love you guys.

If you guys still cannot figure it out, maybe I should figure it out for you? (Note I'm not being sarcastic)
1. 6 of us have Sergeant promo to take.
2. Kana, Jia Xuan and Zakiah have NPAP to attend to, on Wed.
3. That is despite the Land Division outing on Tues, and shooting on Fri.
4. We will be drained like crazy

We have no medals, but use the same effort you did for campcraft, for team 2, for crescent, for your sergeant promo, and your mid years. Then next time when you think back, you'll say, I didn't get into the finals, but I'm proud that I passed my Sergeant and did well for mid years in exchange. I understand the weightage of campcraft in your hearts, but we have to let go, alright?

campcraft teams, lets congratulate ourselves for an awesome performance done out there at hta. seriously we did well. hey, even mdm lim said so :) the flag doesn't really matter that much, it's the moment out there that is the main point. as long as we all enjoyed ourselves out there while pitching, it's okay. i'm sure all of you enjoyed yourselves out there right? i certainly did.

team one, congrats for making it to finals!! i'm seriously happy for you ~~guys~~ girls! make crescent npcc proud okay?? give it all your best!! but no stress stress. the rest of us would be behind you ~~guys~~ girls all the way, cheering you on!!
team two, we did an awesome job. i'm sure all of us gave it our best shot. and like casandra said, it's the journey that matters. not the results. even if we did get that 11th position, which im not entirely too sure, it shows that we did a great performance. no need to burn any building down or slap anyone, as long as we enjoyed ourselves and know that we gave our best. yes i'm sure all of us would miss campcraft training, but think about it, we have happy memories which we can store and look back upon in the future. (gosh mushy) don't blame yourselves, any of you. i cried okay seeing you guys crying yesterday. please don't make me cry again. i love you ~~guys~~ girls, i love team two :)

as long as you know you went out there and did your best im sure that they can tell
dont think that you just wasted like how many months training for nothing because its NOT
think about all the progress that you've made as a team
think about all the laughter

think about all the FUN
think about how bonded you are as a team now
we achieved so much within these few months
we achieved things that would not have been possible if it wasn't for those trainings
